Some Everyday TIPS and Tricks on how to find a lost GPS and FPV Sky Viper Drone Below
Tip #1. If you are looking through your VR Goggles on your FPV drone as it is flying, the moment that you start noticing that you are starting to lose connectivity with the drone (it could be sporadic, cutting in and out), immediately press the return home button if available.
Tip #2. Still using the VR Goggles, if connectivity to the drone starts getting shaky; have the drone’s camera (if available), immediately look straight down into the ground. This will allow for you to make a mental note of the terrain where the drone is flying over. You should also try to take a screenshot if possible of the terrain with the drone’s camera (this allows for you to create some type of landmark as you start your search). Most likely, you are not too far away from the drone, so you should be able to recognize the terrain if you just start walking in the general direction where the drone was last seen.
Tip #3. If your drone’s has the GPS feature built in, there is a good chance that you can see the last location of where the drone was last seen on your controller or app (on your smart phone). Again, it is very important to pay attention to where your drone is on the controller or your app’s map when you start losing connectivity. The drone will most likely be in the general direction where you last saw it on your app if you start walking in that direction. How to find a lost sky viper drone continued..
Tip #4. How to find a lost sky viper drone continued.. If you are in the middle of your drone’s FPV session via the VR goggles, chances are that when you start losing connectivity with the drone, your live FPV feed will be the first to go down. This is very common, and there is a good opportunity here for you to try to get control back of the drone via the controller by telling it to return home.
Tip #5. When things like this happen, in order to figure out on how to find a lost sky viper drone that went missing, you need to not panic. This is super important. Do Not, and I repeat, Do Not ever turn your controller off. There is a good reason for this. The moment that you turn your controller off to try and re-establish the connection, you cut your chances of finding the drone in half. Tip #1. Second Drone. Yep, buy yourself a second drone. No, we are not saying to replace your drone and that all is lost. Not at all. What I am suggesting is that you buy a second drone (or borrow one), one that has a camera. Take this drone out for a flight in the general area where your Sky Viper Drone went missing. You will user this second drone’s camera (preferably FPV) to scour the area for your lost drone. Bird’s eye view, that’s what this is all about.
Tip #2. Using the second drone still, look for any weird lights on the ground. Quite often, if the drone’s fall and the propeller blades happen to break, the drone’s LED lights will start flashing crazy colors (like RED). This is a good way to spot your lost drone.
